Have you ever been on TV

Hi {first_name},

I was 4 years old, playing in the mud in the sandbox at my preschool in Hillcrest, San Diego, when a photographer snapped my photo.

Mary Liz, age 4,  playing in the mud at All Saints’ Episcopal School

I’m not sure how or why, but that led to me being in a Tide Commercial and some cold hard cash in my bank account. Unfortunately, my acting career was short-lived. I heard stories that my parents didn’t want me to be a child star or something. Who knows why I didn’t get to go down that career path?

I have, however, been on the radio and TV.

Recently I was interviewed on TV about the current state of the job market and let me tell you, it's more important than ever to take control of your career path and learn how to "Become the CEO of your own career." That's why I'm here to share some insights and tips with all of you and hey if this doesn’t pertain to you, send it to someone who needs a little encouragement or guidance in their job search.

Can I be honest for a sec?

Gone are the days of working for a company for 20 years and moving up the ladder and collecting a fat pension. Stop sitting on the sidelines hoping your boss notices your hard work and promotes you.

The average job length now? 3-4 years! So, it's time to stop waiting for things to magically get better and start taking charge of your career.

Did you know that the average adult will work approximately 96,000 hours in their lifetime? That's a lot of time, so you should be doing something you love! And if you're feeling stuck in your current job, don't worry, there's hope! I'll show you how to get clarity before you launch your job search and create a personal brand that sets you apart from the competition.

Tip #1:  Network like your career depends on it (because it does!). Many companies still have referral programs, so use them to your advantage. Trust me, it's not what you know, but who you know.

Tip #2:  Define your Personal Brand: You might be thinking, "Why do I need a personal brand?" Well, let me tell you - it's essential for today's career professionals. Your personal brand is how you market yourself to the world. It's what sets you apart from others in your industry and makes you the ideal candidate for your dream job.

Your personal brand is not just your resume or your LinkedIn profile. It's the way you present yourself, your unique strengths and talents, and how you communicate your value to others. And trust me, having a strong personal brand can make all the difference in landing your next job or getting a promotion.

So, let's get to work on building your personal brand and taking your career to the next level. With my expertise in career pivots and job search prep, I'll guide you every step of the way.
