How to Hire a Virtual Assistant

Is this you?

You are getting busy in your business.

You didn’t start your business to work 50 hours a week, did you?

I didn’t think so.

It might be time to 🛑 STOP and THINK 🤔 Think about what you are spending your time working on that is NOT in your wheelhouse. In other words… where are you spinning your wheels?

It might be time to hire a Virtual Assistant!

But it might not be as easy as you think.

I’m going to share how to do this successful on the first take (I am on my third VA because I didn’t follow this process with the first two!)

START SMALL

  1. Write up a brief job description and your SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)

  2. Know what you are outsourcing. Don’t ask the VA (virtual assistant) to tell you what they can do.

  3. Start with something simple (emails templates,, graphics or scheduling social are easy to get started with)

  4. Where to find a VA- I used Upwork, there are also agencies out there, like Jeff Hunter: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffjhunter/.

  5. TEST the VA - give them one project which should take under an hour for them to complete. Understand that if they are not from the country you live in there can be an language barrier. If they complete the assignment about 85-90% correct, within the time  frame given to them, then they are possible a good fit for the job.
