Don't let FEAR hold you back from making a Career Move!

Exciting news! I had the opportunity to be on the radio and talk about career tips and advice.

Catch the reply to hear my interview. In the meantime, here are a few quick tips for success in your career:

I love coffee, like really, really love it. We have 2 Coffee machines, a Keruig, a Nespresso and a pour over. I also love helping my clients set realistic career goals. It’s about creating the perfect blend of risk (pushing them outside of their comfort zone) and sensible actions (the ones they know they have to do). Here are 5 steps to help you start thinking about your career path.

  1. Set your career goals like you brew your coffee, with precision and intention. Decide what you want to achieve and create a plan to make it happen.

    • According to a study by the University of Scranton, only 8% of people achieve their New Year's resolutions, but those who explicitly make resolutions are 10 times more likely to attain their goals than people who don't explicitly make resolutions.

  2. Network like a barista, building relationships with professionals in your field is like creating a perfect latte. It takes time and effort but the result is worth it.

    • A study by LinkedIn found that 85% of jobs are filled through networking. Building relationships with professionals in your field can greatly increase your chances of finding new opportunities.

  3. Learn and grow your skills just like a coffee master, the more you know about coffee, the more you can create amazing taste. Similarly, the more you know about your field, the more opportunities you will have.

    •  A report by the World Economic Forum found that the top three skills needed for future jobs are critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Continuously learning and expanding your skills can help you stay relevant and competitive in the job market.

  4. Take opportunities like a sip of coffee, with a calculated risk. Sometimes trying new things can lead to unexpected and delicious results.

    • A study by the Harvard Business Review found that successful entrepreneurs take calculated risks and often fail before achieving success. Taking calculated risks can lead to new opportunities and potential success.

  5. Stay positive and focused like a coffee lover, and don't be afraid to ask for help or advice, after all, coffee is always better when shared with friends.

    • According to a study by the University of Warwick, happy workers are 12% more productive than their unhappy counterparts. Staying positive and focused can help increase productivity and improve overall job performance.

Remember, just like coffee, career success takes time and effort, but the reward is worth it. Keep these steps in mind, and you'll be on your way to a successful career journey.
