Wondering if your LinkedIn Profile is up to PAR for 2023?

Hey there, why even bother with having a 30-second video on your LinkedIn profile, you ask? Well, it's simple. It makes you look like an actual human being with a personality and not just some faceless robot. And guess what? Most people don't do it, so it's an awesome way to make yourself stand out from the crowd.

Don't believe me? Check out my profile video below. One trick is to
record it in Zoom and speed it up a little to fit into that 30-second timeframe. But for this one, I simply used my iPhone and added a CTA.

But how do you even make a video like that, you may ask?

Fear not, my friend. Here are some simple steps to help you out:

Step 1: Write a script. You can totally copy mine (which is more of an icebreaker format) and just add your own flair, or use ChatGPT for help.
* If you are hosting an event like I am, include it in the video. Just remember to go back after your event and record a new video.

Step 2: Read your script out loud, like 10 times. This will help you get comfortable with the material and make it easier to record.

Step 3: Record yourself reading the script. Do it several times if this is your first time recording your cover video. 30 seconds goes by fast.

Step 4: Trim your video down to 30 seconds using editing software. If you're on a PC, use ClipChamp. If you're on a Mac, use QT pro. And make sure it sounds good!
*no dogs barking, babies crying or doorbells ringing!

Step 5: Add captions to your video. Instagram makes this super easy to do.

Step 6: Edit your video in Canva. Add all the call-to-action and make it look even better.

Step 7: Upload that bad boy from your mobile phone and let people know about it! Write a post and have them check it out.

Step 8: Repurpose your profile video on IG, FB, TikTok, and anywhere else you want to show off.
